Faith

OVERVIEW

CATHOLIC IDENTITY

Machebeuf is a High School that belongs to the Archdiocese of Denver and henceforth our identity comes from “proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, celebrating his Sacraments, and exercising his works of mercy, so that all might participate in his salvation and discover the lasting joy of a relationship with him.” (Archdiocese of Denver statement on Faith).

Sacraments & Prayer

“Let us keep the flame of faith alive through prayer and the sacraments; let us make sure we do not forget God” (Pope Francis).

Mass is offered daily for students before or after school and all students attend mass together as a whole school community once a week. Confessions are available at designated times throughout the week and students have the opportunity to participate in Penance Services three times throughout the year. Adoration and morning prayer are also available every morning before school.

Retreats

Every student at Machebeuf takes time during each school year to nurture his/her spiritual life by participating in a class retreat. The retreat program is a required component of each student’s formation because it is integral to have a personal encounter with the Lord. Retreats are overnight trips in which students have the opportunity to participate in the sacraments, encounter Christ during adoration, and also grow in relationship with their classmates, teachers, and Campus Ministry staff.

Discernment Groups and Bible Studies

Discernment Groups and Bible Study groups, led by Machebeuf faculty and Campus Ministry staff, are hosted throughout the year with the purpose of continual formation for students.
